Brooklinen Washing Instructions

Brooklinen has a variety of beddings to provide hotel-level comfort and aesthetics to homes.

It is effortless to maintain your Brooklinen products, like the sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers, comforters, etc.; they each require special attention and care.

Following the instructions on the care label of each item is vital as they have different care instructions.

Brooklinen Sheets

Brooklinen washing and care

Wash your Brooklinen sheets every week. Do not dry clean. You can use a washer or hand wash. If you want to brighten the color of your white cotton sheets, soak them in cold water mixed with gentle, non-chlorine bleach, and then wash. Do not use bleach on linen sheets.

Wash

  1. Fluff the sheets and gently place them in the washer.
  2. Pour in a mild detergent. Also, pour in bleach if you want to whiten your sheets.
  3. Set the washer to the “delicate” wash cycle and cold water setting. If necessary, use an extra rinse cycle to ensure the soap suds are gone.
  4. Start the wash.
  5. Dry your sheets.

Dry

Hanging your sheets on a clothesline to air-dry is ideal to avoid wrinkles and preserve the fabric. However, if you want to tumble dry, do so on the lowest heat setting. Remove the sheets immediately after the dry cycle ends and lay them flat to air dry.

Care

Don’t store your sheets in an air-tight area or a plastic container. Rather, your sheets’ storage should be roomy. Poor storage can cause yellowing and wrinkles.

Remove the sheets from the dryer while it’s still damp and air-dry to prevent wrinkles.

If you must iron your sheets, do so with low heat.

Brooklinen Pillows

There are Brooklinen pillows to suit every sleeping or lying position. Wash your pillows three or four times a year.

Wash

Your Brooklinen pillows are dry clean only. Do not use a washer. For stains, spot clean with a mild detergent.

Steps for Spot Cleaning:

  1. Thoroughly search the pillows for any stain.
  2. In a bowl or spray bottle, mix cold water and detergent.
  3. Wet the first stain with the mixture and leave it for 30 seconds to a minute.
  4. Gently dab the area with a white cloth or towel.
  5. Rinse the area with clean cold water.
  6. Use another white cloth or towel to dampen the spot.
  7. Repeat this process for every stain you find till the pillow is stain-free.

Dry

Tumble dry on the lowest heat setting or air fluff setting after spot cleaning or when you want to fluff the pillow. Hang your pillow outside to air-dry to freshen it once in a while.

Care

Always use a pillowcase to protect the pillow from skin oils, hair products, dust, etc. As an added optional protection, use a pillow protector.

Brooklinen Towels

Brooklinen towels are soft and absorbent. They come in different ranges to suit your needs and preference. Wash your towels after three or four uses or at least once a week.

Wash

  1. Place the towels gently in the washer.
  2. Pour in a mild non-bleach color-safe detergent. Don’t use fabric softener and bleach during the wash. Using these reduces the towel’s absorbency.
  3. Set the washer to the “delicate wash cycle” and cold water setting. If necessary, use an extra rinse cycle to ensure the soap suds are gone.
  4. Start the wash.
  5. Dry your towels immediately after the wash ends.

Dry

Tumble dry your towels on the lowest heat or air fluff setting. Put tennis balls in the dryer to help fluff the towels.

You can also hang your towels on a clothesline to air dry.

Care

Towels shed commonly, but the shedding will reduce after subsequent washing.

Cut them off with sharp scissors if there are long loose threads or snags. Do not pull; it can scatter the towel.

Hang your towel on a rod and not a hook, especially the Brooklinen Waffle towels prone to snagging.

Brooklinen Comforter

Brooklinen Comforter Washing Instructions

Brooklinen comforters are so cozy and comfortable. They are also hypoallergenic, making them particularly useful when you have allergies.

Wash

Your Brooklinen comforter should not be in the washer; they are dry clean only. If you encounter stains, spot clean them with a mild non-bleach detergent.

Dry clean your comforter two to three times a year. If you have a down comforter, dry cleaning reduces the lifespan, but this does not happen with down alternative comforters.

Dry

Tumble dry your towels on low heat or the air fluff setting. You can also hang your towels on a clothesline to air dry.

Care

Fluff your Brooklinen comforter every other day, especially if you have a down comforter. Fluffing gets rid of dust and debris and ensures the proper distribution of fill with down comforters.

Hang your comforter outside to ventilate it.

A Brooklinen duvet cover is the perfect choice for hot sleepers because it is cool, while the pillowcases are perfect for year-round use because they insulate the heat and are cool to the touch.

  2. Pour in a mild detergent.
  3. Set the washer to the “delicate” wash cycle and “cold water” setting, and an extra rinse cycle to ensure the soap suds are gone.
  4. Start the wash and dry immediately after the wash ends.
